RoHS Requirements

In February 2003, legislation was enacted in Europe (Directive 2002/95/EC) restricting the use of certain hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment placed on the market beginning July 1, 2006.

This RoHS directive puts limits on six environmentally hazardous substances, particularly in the electrical and electronic industries:

• Lead (Pb)
• Mercury (Hg)
• Cadmium (Cd)
• Hexavalent Chromium (Cr+6)
• Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB)
• Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE)

If you are planning to submit an order for a part that must be RoHS compliant, please state the RoHS requirement in your initial RFQ so that we can quote your parts correctly, with all specs and compliance issues taken into consideration.
